This Firecracker Gun was hand made for all of the male
grandsons of Charley Carroll
of Miami, Oklahoma in the 1950's. As far as we know there is only one left
in existence.
It is owned by Ronnie Roy Edwards of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The end cap was unscrewed and a firecracker was inserted with
the fuse protruding
through the cut-out slot in the barrel. Then the cap would be screwed back
on "TIGHT".
The user would then extend the arm out straight with the barrel pointing
into the air and
away from everyone and everything. When given the command to fire, a second
person
would light the firecracker fuse and run like hill..........
P.S.
I remember my cousin Joe Carroll did not follow the
instructions nor good common
sense and did not tighten the "Cap". Joe had his arm extended
and the gun was pointed
away from him, he touched off the firecracker fuse
and....... BOOOOM!!!!
The next time you meet Joe Carroll be
sure to ask him how he got that big bump on his
forehead and how long he laid on the ground
unconscious.
